Snow Ice Cream

My friend Lisa shared this recipe on her blog. It sounded easy and I knew my kids would love the idea of making ice cream out of snow. It only took a few minutes to make and my kids loved it. I thought it was pretty tasty too. :) You should try it out the next time you get some snow.

Here is the recipe:

1 c. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. sugar
4-6 cups clean snow, unpacked

Mix all ingredients together and add more snow as needed. (We used about 6 cups total)
Top with chocolate chips, sprinkles or any other ice cream topping you desire.

This sounds like a great FHE treat! Too bad i don't think I could find 6 cups of clean snow. Darn you neighbor dogs! I'll check the backyard. ;)

After 4 days without electricity...I saw this posting! We have been iced/snowed in for the second time in a month in Oklahoma. This was so much fun to do with the kids tonight...thanks for sharing it!

We always did that when the children were at home. How nice that you do too!

How timely! We just got 2 ft of snow this weekend and have another 10-20 inches on the way Tues/Wed. Pretty sure I have plenty of snow to spare....

I don't think I would try this unless I lived very far away from society, cars etc, too much pollution. So if you live out in the mountains, go for it!
